Research experience

• Master’s Thesis: Correlating the Galactic Magnetic Field and the Galactic Synchrotron
  • Working under the supervision of Dr. Tuhin Ghosh (NISER)
  • This is in continuation with the Summer 2023 work.
  • Simulated Synchrotron maps using best fitted parameters with respect to WMAP data.
  • Studying the statistics of these fields using Power spectrum, Minkowski Functionals.
  • Developing a julia code for Minkowski Functional Calculations.
• Summer 2024: NORDITA Summer Internship
  • Worked under the supervision of Dr. Sambit Giri.
  • Construction of Halo merger trees for dark matter.
  • Merger tree construction based on Extended Press-Schecter Theory (GALFORM Algorithm).
  • Observed the change in merger trees for different choice of Cosmological parameters.
• Summer 2023: SERB MATRICS Fellow
  • Correlating Synchrotron radiation with Galactic Magnetic Field: I have tried to match statistics of data with that of generated from simulations and, used power spectrum and Minkowkski Functionals to study their statistics, and investigate their correlation.

• Independent Research Project
  • Self Supervised Active Learning Search Algorithm (SALSA): We devised an active learning guided algorithm to explore the latent space generated through representation learning heads on a dataset, and used it to discover newer samples of a particular class.
  • Collaborated with Diptarko Choudhury.
  • Guide: Dr. Subhankar Mishra.
  • Outcomes: Manuscript for publication has been submitted to a conference.
• Summer 2022: Summer Research Fellow @ Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru
  • I analysed X-ray spectrum of several dual Active Galactic Nucleus and tried to find the presence of Fe-K$\alpha$ lines using Chandra CIAO and HEASOFT. I also tried to constrain the dynamics of blackhole through spectral fitting with different models.
